Dean's Plaice

The best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Will not disappoint you. Perfectly cooked. By the time I took the pics half of it we had already eaten. Will definitely visit again.

So after being disappointed by another fish and chip in the town and discarding the fish and chips rather sharply I was still craving some fish and chips and i thought I wouldn’t give up that easy on wanting fish and chips so I decided to grab some fish and chips from deans plaice. On first impression it was very smart and tidy , the staff were busy but very welcoming . The prices are what you’d come to expect in finding a decent fish and chips of which in think I’d good value for money although it is on the higher end of pricing The fish tasted great , not soaking in oil and was just a good battered fish , chips were okay could have a slight more crisp to them , portion wise chips were not bad I did have a large I thought there was enough but some might say you could add a few more in there especially paying for a large portion . Probably the best fish and chip shop in hernebay , so if your in herne bay and fancy some fish and chips pop in and grab yourself some . For more food content follow me on socials @bigchefeats

Visited today we asked some locals where was the best fish and chips they said Deans plaice. Really glad we took their advice we did not have to wait long to be seated. How food came quick piping hot the fish was really fresh the chips were lovely cooked to perfection. My friend ordered a coffee, which was really nice. We ordered a small potion of chips and cod and a small chips and haddock. We could not believe it when the food arrived the fish was massive. I also ordered a banana milkshake everything was perfection. Staff very friendly.

We (4 adults) visited on 08-08-25, late afternoon. We had 4 different meals with hot & cold drinks. The service was quick, very friendly staff, totally delicious food, very tasty. Lovely cleanliness, toilet facilities excellent. 5 stars overall but deserves more. Thank you to all the staff from "The man in black" & everyone else.

This has changed loads since we went a fair few years ago. Spotlessly clean from door to table. We were seated very quickly and ordered. Small cod, chips and mushy peas x 3 and scampi and half a portion of chips. It arrived in minutes, piping hot and fresh as you could get. The portion size was ample. In fact some was left. The staff are very attentive, we were asked 3 times if everything was ok. Gladly it was. The prices are very reasonable. The toilets were spotless and there’s a disabled toilet as well When we left the fryer wished was a good rest of the day.

Excellent friendly service, fish was super fresh. A must visit.

We got some chips for take away, and they were so delicious, it was packed but they got our order in very fast. It’s also charming that they are located directly at the coast 10/10 would recommend. Also the portion was huge which was perfect because we are 3 people. So nice !! Thank you
